Last week saw the Caparica Primavera Surf Fest, which is the first stop on the European Pro Junior series, hit the Portuguese shores.
Here’s a round up of all the action that went down, both in and out of the contest vest:

- Wunderkind Kanoa Igarashi (USA) looked unstoppable early in the competition , before coming unstuck in Round 3

- Francisco Da Silva Duarte taking on a punchy right off the groyn on Day 1

- The Sun rose on Day 2 to reveal rippable off-shore peaks, as far as the eye could see

- Angus Scotney (GBR) put on a backhand clinic throughout the competition only to be eliminated in the dying seconds of his RD 3 heat by fellow brit Jobe Harriss

- A fishing boat passes through out the back as the sun rises

- 12 Year old Guilherme Ribeiro (PRT) throwing buckets beyond his years

- When the sun sets on the competition the evenings entertainment begins

- Tomas Fernandes (PRT) was on fine form for the morning warm up

- Jobe Harriss (GBR) on his way to achieving an impressive 5th place finish

- Leon Glatzer (Deu) was a stand out both in and out of the contest vest. He stuck this air rotation to earn himself a 6.07 and sail through to Round 3

- The groynes, which produce long reeling lefts and rights on either side, also form an ideal viewing and fishing platform

- Not content with his cover up, Tommy Boucaut (Fra) throws a solid tail high reverse in almost exactly the same spot

- The event was taken out by local boy Miguel Blanco with Naxto Gonzalez of the Basque country taking the runner up spot

- The girls was also won by a Portugese surfer- Teresa Bonvalot, with Britain’s Keshia Eyre coming in second
