Introducing: The Calm Camera Club

A few weeks ago we were overwhelmed by the number of people that came along to the Local Hero portrait exhibition we ran with Jon Mackenzie up at Open Surf and The Canteen Cornwall.

It was an inspiring event that certainly achieved its objective of challenging the stigma around mental health. We had hundreds of people in a packed gallery sharing inspiring stories around mental health, eating incredible food and chatting over a beer.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged under 45 in the UK and we believe one of the best ways to try and combat this issue is to get people talking more openly about their own mental health.

Following on from this event, our mission is to keep the conversation going and so we are supporting Jon Mackenzie and CALM with the running of a monthly meet up called Calm Camera Club.

This is a chance for men to talk openly about their mental health around the topic of photography. It is aimed at anyone from pro photographers to enthusiastic amateurs looking to learn more about the medium.
