The Pipe Waves Of The Winter So Far

Here are all the best waves that have been ridden at Pipe so far this winter.

Now, we know you’ve seen the world’s best barrel riders getting spat out of bombs along the seven mile miracle plenty of times but there’s just some things the eye just never tires of.

Earlier this month it was revealed that this year will be Pipe’s penultimate appearance as the final event on tour, before it becomes the opening event of the new revamped tour, starting February, 2019. With the title race as exciting as ever if the conditions deliver, this year’s event has the potential to garner some serious historical significance.

Maybe we’ll look back and remember it as the start of John John’s reign of dominance, or Medina’s, or Jordy’s first world title. Maybe it will get commentators viciously lamenting Pipe’s re-schedule, or possibly, if anticlimactic, it will be looked back upon as a fitting end to a soon to be surpassed chapter in competitive surfing history. Only time will tell.

This edit features all the usual suspects including John John Florence, Koa Rothman, Damien Hobgood, Mason Ho, Jamie O’Brien, Nathan Florence and more.
