At every surf contest, from your local surf club’s grom event to a WSL CT event, you will find surf judges. They may attract unwanted criticism sometimes (remember Gabriel Medina storming the tower in Portugal a few years ago?), however without them, competitive surfing would not be where it is today.

In this new series, we speak to some of the top British surf judges, representing England, Scotland and Wales. We dive into more about who they are as judges, how they became one, the highlights and lowlights, plus get their insight into competitive surfing in the UK.
