Wavelength Surf Magazine – since 1981

Momentum Generation Inspires Us All

So much of what we see and do exists on a mobile phone. Friends, information, experiences, instructions on where to go and what to see all now live in the palm of our hands.

Wavelength cinema tours are about putting incredible stories and the very best cinematography up on the big screen. They bring people together, friends you haven’t seen for years,  and perhaps those you only ever see in the surf, all under one roof to experience films the way they were meant to be seen.

These events are so much more than just another night at the movies and we love them just as much as you do.

Momentum Generation is a story that has been waiting to be told. Together, directors Jeff and Mike Zimbalist have created a movie that peels back the layers on the lives of our surfing heroes and shows us how it all came to be. (You can find out how the brothers came to make the film here.)

Alongside the movie, we launched our Autumn/Winter print volume of Wavelength, which includes further insight into the film as well some more recent adventures of our own.

The raffle draw is a fun way to open up a chance for people to head home from the evening with something they never thought they would win.

We work hard to bring our film nights to the best local venues, where we can create a community event that delivers far beyond a film screening. We are always open to exploring new locations and especially arthouse cinemas which provide the ideal backdrop to inspire and delight our audiences.

This time around, we kicked off at the Tyneside cinema in the centre of Newcastle, before heading down to the London Genesis cinema, next it was Bournemouth, then Newquay, Exeter, Bristol, Edinburgh, Worthing and St Ives. We rounded off the tour last night in North Devon with another sell-out event, with Ilfracombe packed to the rafters for another great evening of surf cinema.

It has been an absolute pleasure touring the UK with the Momentum Generation.

Thank you for joining us. If you didn’t manage to get tickets you can now download the film right here.

Having seen the film, you may be interested to know more about what the original crew are up to now. Find out here.

And finally thank you, Firewire, Ticket to Ride, and Rolls Royce for supporting us on this tour.

It’s been incredible.
