Wavelength x The Wave Project

Here, at Wavelength, we believe in a few things. Firstly, that the ocean should be accessible for everyone – and we must protect it at all costs. Secondly, we believe in the strength of community, and how surfing can be a pillar for anyone.

Since taking over Wavelength last year, the team have been focussed on what we can do to support local organisations. Some of the staff have been involved with volunteering at The Wave Project, and witnessed first-hand the power of the ocean on young people. The charity’s concept is simple; offer surf therapy courses to young people who need it.

Every time you subscribe to Wavelength via this link, £3 of the sale will go back to The Wave Project to help with their operations, and make sure these crucial therapy sessions are accessible for anyone who needs them.

Lucie Rose-Donlan is a big supporter of the work of The Wave Project.

“The Wave Project does such important work,” said Chris Thomson, owner of Wavelength Surf Magazine. “We’re stoked to support their operation and are happy to give back to an organisation that makes such an incredible difference.

“The ocean should be available for anyone, and the therapeutic nature of getting in the sea has long been documented. We believe in blue health and are happy to help contribute to The Wave Project.”

Each year The Wave Project delivers therapeutic ocean-based sessions to help young people do what they never thought was possible. Spending time in nature and the ocean has been proven to help children have higher self-esteem, reduce anxiety, have better trust and friendships and more positive futures.

Joy Corcec, Marketing Manager at The Wave Project said: “We’re so excited to be collaborating with Wavelength. For every new magazine subscription, £3 will go directly towards funding Surf Therapy programmes across the UK, helping even more young people build confidence, reduce anxiety and feel more connected. We’re so grateful for the team’s continued backing, and it’s amazing to be able to combine our reach to engage new audiences with our shared love of the sea.”
